Cast and Crew Screening!

Freedom Warrior Productions is pleased to announce that “The Meaning of ‘Choice’” is nearing completion!

We held a cast and crew screening on the evening of Friday, August 24. The screening went well, although a few key cast and crew members were unable to attend.

After a few adjustments and minor changes, the film will hopefully enjoy a nationwide wave of screenings in November organized by Churches, pro-life organizations, and even individuals, to be followed by a DVD release sometime in the following couple of months.

We need you to make this happen! Keep an eye out here in September for a full website, trailers, and information about how you can help organize screenings across the country!

It's A Wrap!

Principal photography for The Meaning of “Choice” wrapped Saturday evening, bringing to a conclusion a total of five grueling days of shooting.


God’s hand was evident throughout production, from forcing us to change our planned schedule (avoiding serious unexpected problems later) to bringing in a cloud to diffuse the sun for a single shot, (thus preserving continuity in one of our outdoor scenes) His blessing has enabled us to finish principal photography with a high level of confidence that we have what we need to finish the film!


I also need to thank the parents of our younger cast and crew members for enabling them to help on set, as well as all of the people who pitched in somewhere to make this production a reality.

Everyone worked hard, and although most of them had little experience in this type of production, they did a great job! It was a pleasure to work with each one of them!

Of course, I have to mention that my Mom has done an unbelievable job of set design and catering, and the rest of the family has been a tremendous help as well.

Casting Announcement!

Freedom Warrior Productions is pleased to announce that Clare Michalik will play the part of Angela in the upcoming short film “The Meaning of ‘Choice’”.

Clare has enjoyed acting since her debut as the donkey in her 3rd grade Christmas play. In high school, she has acted in Macbeth, Jabberwock, and Our Town, where she played the role of Emily.

Clare is currently studying Nursing at Madonna University. One of seven children, she resides in Dearborn, Michigan.

Audition Information

Auditions will take place this Saturday (April 21) from 1:30 to 5:30 at 1775 N. Lapeer Rd., next to the Charter office. (It's a white building with a green roof on the West side of M24--the unit we will be using has a 'For Lease' sign in the window.)

Each interview and audition should take between 10 and 20 minutes. If you are interested in trying out, please call me at (248) 895-3753 to schedule your audition as soon as possible.

Auditions will be taped for later review, and casting announcements for most roles should be made next week.

Our set photographer will be in attendance to take a few publicity shots for use after casting decisions have been announced.

Needed: Locations

Freedom Warrior Productions is seeking locations for the upcoming short film “The Meaning of ‘Choice’”.

The following locations are needed:

Park/open area (must be able to shoot at night)

House (Outside only)

House (Outside, inside bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, and front entryway)

Banquet hall

Large, open indoor area without windows (for use as an interior dark set)

The locations will need to be somewhere within the Southeastern portion of

Michigan.

Premise: “When it comes to ‘Choice’, life doesn’t count.”

Logline:

Young Sarah O’Conner addresses a pro-life gathering and tells them the story of Angela, a young woman whose decision to let her child live nearly precipitates her own murder and reveals the true nature of the “pro-choice” movement.

Roles:

Primary Cast:

Sarah/Angela O’Conner

Age: 15-20 (Needs to pass as 16 and 18)

Height: Preferably between 5’ and 5’6”

Temperament: for Angela, sweet, fun-loving, non-aggressive; for Sarah, quiet, strong.

Joe

Age: 17-22 (Needs to appear close to Angela’s age)

Height: Preferably 5’4” and 6’4”

Temperament: Charming, but self-centered; a “most popular guy in school” type.

Supporting Cast:

Mr. & Mrs. O’Conner

Age: 43-48 (Need to pass as parents of 18-year-old)

Temperament: “Traditional Church family parents”; loving, but the type who are slightly more inclined to listen to “experts” and follow the crowd than challenge the culture too much.

Rob O’Conner

Age: 14-17 (Needs to pass as 15-16 year old)

Height; Preferably between 5’2” and 5’8”

Temperament: Fun/adventure-loving, slightly annoying younger brother.

Tormenter

Height: At least 5’6”, but preferably taller.

Tormenter (Voice)

Needs to be somewhat intimidating, strong, possibly deep.

Doesn’t need to be the same person as the physical actor.

Leslie Berken

Age: Flexible, but must pass for at least 23-25 if not older.

Temperament: Feminist reporter; chip on her shoulder when it comes to men and rabidly pro-abortion.

Other Miscellaneous Cast:

There will be a few other minor “bit parts” available, as well as a need for up to 100-150 “extras” for a pro-life fundraiser scene.

Pay: None

Location: This film is being shot in and around Oakland County, Michigan. Precise locations to be determined.
